A wonderful time in a wonderful house!

The house is very lovely. It's clean, well-maintained, and very conveniently located--just a few few blocks away from the boardwalk/beach and restaurants. The boardwalk is a pleasant walk, even in winter, and we always enjoy Nagles! Carol is great to work with and is very responsive.
Once again, I couldn't recommend this place more, and we always love returning each year. This was our fifth time returning to Carol's house!!

Great Stay for Whole Family for Parent's 50th

This house was perfect for our family of 15 which included 8 adults and 7 kids
ranging in age from 5 to 16. The house was very clean and well stocked with all
the amenities needed (towels, paper goods, cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies,
etc.) making it super easy to enjoy the long weekend. The added bonus of the beach
locker with the beach chairs and boogie boards was fantastic. It was great to be able
to walk to the beach without lugging all of that. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

All of us had a great time at the beach

We assembled in Ocean Grove for a family gathering. Fourteen of us settled into the house which accommodated us comfortably. The beach was nearby, the kitchens were equipped well, and there was even space for all of us to eat together.
The front porch was ideal for people watching and gathering after meals.
Carol was a wonderful host.
She even supplied us with a wheelchair when our daughter arrived without hers.
Overall, we loved the house and had a great time.

Perfect house

9 of us arrived on June 12 for a reunion week. In all of our 11 years of getting together at different places, this has been, by far the nicest house. The house was immaculate, and well equipped. All the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The city of Ocean Grove was just beautiful with plenty to do. There was just a short walk to the beach where we were supplied with chairs and umbrellas.
Many afternoons were spent on the spacious front porch.
We recommend this house to any large group, especially senior citizens.

Room for the entire family!

We had such a great time for my mom's 75th birthday. The property was clean and well-maintained and the description and photos on the website are very accurate. We rented the entire house and had room for everybody. Carol arranged the dining tables so we could all sit together at meal time which was a real treat. This property has everything you could possibly need! The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, a variety of glassware, serving pieces, baking dishes as well as nearly all the seasonings you might desire. The porch was a great spot to start the day, as well as end the day, or spend the day people watching. A block and a half from the beach, with easy access to beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and the beach tags are included in the rental. We brought our bikes and rode into town and the adjacent towns for ice cream and snacks. Ocean Grove is a great beach town, with friendly people, shops, restaurants, bakeries, activities at the Great Auditorium, and of course the beach! This is the perfect location for a summertime beach getaway. I only hope we can all get back there this year:)

Great house in a great location

This is a very lovely house. We've been having our gatherings here for four years and have never had a problem. Quite the opposite! Carol has been wonderful to work with, and the house is always in perfect order and incredibly clean. The house is very comfortable and spacious; it's great for relaxing, hanging out, and playing games. The kitchens are also well stocked, clean, and very enjoyable to cook in. I couldn't recommend this house more.

Carol was a great owner to deal with. She is very efficient and thinks of everything. You get a trust factor that you do not normally get with rentals. She takes pride in her home and really truly wants renters to have a enjoyable vacation. The house is well kept and worked very well for our big group. Our family had a wonderful time. This is a perfect location for a family.
The House was very comfortable. Teens and preteens could walk all over Ocean Grove and boardwalk with no worries.
The adults could enjoy concerts and food in Asbury Park in the evenings!

Great house for a family reunion

We found this house to be just as described in other reviews and perfect for our family reunion! All 14 of us were comfortable and especially appreciated the first floor bedroom (for my elderly mother), the updated bathrooms and kitchen. We were so impressed with all the extra supplies provided such as fresh bars of soap in the showers, paper towels, and a well-stocked kitchen. The location is very convenient with a short walk to town or to the Asbury Park boardwalk and train station. With the extra refrigerator upstairs, we were able to stock all the food we needed for the entire weekend (although there is a small grocery store in Ocean Grove). We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and the neighborhood is very friendly and quiet. Our weekend was just as relaxing and fun as we had hoped it would be and we look forward to returning!

My group of 15 rented the house for the weekend, and had a really great experience. The website maintained by the owner is very informative, and all descriptions and pics were completely accurate. The house, which conveniently has two kitchens and living rooms, was clean and well-maintained, very well-stocked with linens and kitchen items, and is on a quiet street a few blocks from a great beach. It's also only a few blocks from Main Street, where most of the shops and restaurants in the area ore located. Additionally, the owner responded to my initial inquiry and follow-up questions promptly, and handled all logistics in a hassle-free manner. All in all, a great experience.

Pefect vacation for a big family.

We loved our stay in Ocean Grove, 10 adults and 5 children under the age of 7. It is conveniently located to everything (beach, town, auditorium, etc..). The area is safe and the people are friendly. Carol was very helpfull and answered all of our many questions before we arrived and while we were there. It is well stocked (kitchen supplies, room supplies, beach supplies, electronics, etc...).The house is clean and plenty of room for everyone. We liked the clean sheets on the bed so that we could make them when we arrived and then strip them and leave them out for the service when we left.

We stayed at Carol's beach house for the second time this summer & enjoyed it as much as we had the first time. The remodeled downstairs bathroom was great for our octogenarian & we all loved the new washer & dryer! The house is wonderful, Buster's a great neighbor, and the community is sooo not "The Jersey Shore" of tv fame. Thanks again, Carol, we are counting the weeks til our next family beach vacation!

30th birthday weekend by the shore

I wanted to celebrate my 30th birthday by inviting my friends for a long weekend at the shore. This house was absolutely perfect for us! Great location, a stone's throw from the beach and walking distance from the nice restaurants and bars in Asbury Park. Also, several of my guests arrived by train from NYC, and the station in Asbury Park is conveniently within walking distance. The house is very spacious and nicely decorated yet feels really cozy and welcoming, it was spotless and there were plenty of facilities for all my guests. The owner, Carol, was so friendly and had clearly thought about everything in terms of amenities. The house is well stocked with all the little things you need to live comfortably. I highly recommend this property and would love to return to Ocean Grove in the future,

We are so happy to have found this house. The whole experience there exceeded our expectations. The pictures of the house really showed what the house looked like. The amenities are too numerous to list. It is a clean and well maintained house and shows the love its owner feels for it. We were 17 people ranging in age from 73 down to 2 years old and we never felt cramped. We were very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this house to any of our friends and family. The beach is clean and well maintained and has bathrooms and a snack bar.

This is the second time our group has a gathering at 27 Bath. The listing was more than accurate regarding the property's location and amenities. The photographs are accurate, the property is clean and well maintained. The owner, Carol, was extremely gracious. She communicates fast and clearly. I highly recommend this property when staying in Ocean Grove, particularly to large groups. We had our own cook and it was great to not have to be scattered, but the Starving Artist Restaurant was a treat!

We loved our stay in Ocean Grove at this house. It is conveniently located to everything (beach, town, auditorium, etc..). It is well stocked (kitchen supplies, room supplies, beach supplies, electronics, etc...).The house has been updated nicely (kitchen, baths), is clean, and maintains its wonderful charm (different color bedrooms hidden away with different lay-outs etc..). We liked the clean sheets on the bed so that we could make them when we arrived and then strip them and leave them out for the service when we left. The landlord was very pleasant and easy to work with.

Family Reunion

This is the perfect house for a family reunion. It is spacious enougb on the main floor to accomodate a large family gathering. We had 32 people (adults and children) for the day. Dinner didn't seem crowded and conversation felt normal for such a large group. The eight bedrooms easily held the fifteen adults and three children who stayed for the weekend. Having the single bedroom on the first floor worked great for someone who has trouble climbing the stairs. When everyone left but four of us for the remainder of the week it still worked well. This is our second year and looking forward to a third year of renting this clean and well maintained house. Lots of towels and beach supplies along with staples. Lookkng forward to next year!

All it's cracked up to be

Pictures are often deceiving but in this case, the real thing was just as advertised, if not better. There were 11 of us, some couples, some singles, and all of us in real need of a vacation. Carol the owner was there when we arrived, still putting fresh sheets on the beds and making sure all our questions were answered. Our group is very much into cooking so we ate dinner in most nights and the well stocked kitchen made this a pleasure. The whole week was a pleasure! Close enough to walk to Asbury Park, the beach and town. Lovely place, lovely owner. Would absolutely recommend.

My extended family recently spent a week in this house and couldn't have been more pleased. There was plenty of room for everyone, even on the rainy days. The owner really has thought of everything, from beach toys to laundry soap! I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a low-stress family vacation.

The Perfect Spot

We rented this house for the weekend to serve as the home base for our group during the Bamboozle Concert. There was plenty of room for all 8 teenagers and some parent chaperones. The house is perfectly located 1.5 blocks to the beach, within a few short blocks of the quiet town of Ocean Grove yet within walking distance to Asbury Park. The house is well equipped. Everything we could have wanted was there at the house...towels, linens, beach chairs, even boogie boards. The girls loved having their own apartment. Thank you Carol for offering up your charming home. We hope to come back next year.

Wow, what a great property! 13 of us ranging in age from 9-77 called this our home for 4 days and none of us wanted to leave! The house is huge, extremely clean/tidy, updated, comfortable with everything you need. Carol is, hands down, the best "landlord" ever. Aside from her pleasant personality, she supplies all the linens, bath towels, beach towels, hand soap, bath soap (in each of the 4 bathrooms), toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, games, tv (though we rarely had it on) etc. There are AC's with remotes in all the rooms, though there are nice breezes in the bedrooms and ceiling fans as well.
When you head to the beach (out the door, take a left and walk a short block and a half) all you need is sunscreen-she provides the 10 beach badges, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards, etc.
Without a doubt, if you're looking for a fabulous experience at the shore, in a family friendly environment, then this house is for you!

Beach House Rental for Jersey Shore Wedding

My family rented this Ocean Grove home for a long weekend in June. There were 9 of us - all adults - and the house was great because it provided ample space for everyone. The sleeping accommodations on each floor and numerous bathrooms allowed each family unit a bit of privacy, which was much appreciated.
The house and the shops in Ocean Grove were really quaint. The photos posted by the property owner very accurately convey the house, which was spotless and fully outfitted in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc., There was an A/C unit in each bedroom and free wi-fi. What was most helpful was a property manual the homeowner had prepared...it explained all the key features of the house, checkout/laundry procedures, and provided recommendations on area sights, shopping and restaurants. There were even beach passes so we didn't have to purchase those separately.
The beach, which was just 1.5 blocks from the house, was great too although we were a little surprised to discover that it doesn't open until 12:30pm on Sundays. The boardwalk extends along the beach both to the south and north so there's plenty of opportunity to walk the boardwalk. While a little quiet in Ocean Grove, the boardwalk offered more activity within easy walking distanced headed north into Asbury Park. There were restaurants, shops, kids activities, etc.
We felt very safe and comfortable in this house and would certainly recommend it for a bigger group. It's a great old house in an extremely convenient area.

A Perfect Home for Our Family Reunion at the Beach

Our family of 9 flew and drove in from New York, Connecticut and Idaho to celebrate our aunt's 100th birthday. Carol's home was ideal - from the first floor bedroom, bath and front porch (so our aunt didn't have to walk upstairs), the spacious living and dining room area, many bedrooms and bed configurations, well-stocked kitchen (including the lobster "crackers" and forks!) to the beach toys, umbrella, cards and games for my 8 and 11 year old nieces. Ocean Grove is an ideal location - the beach is beautiful with big waves, very family oriented, and Asbury Park is within easy walking distance for night life, arcade games, outdoor dining on the boardwalk and shops. We definitely plan to return again !

We Loved This Home!

The home is spacious, well-stocked with all sorts of supplies, and extremely convenient to beach/boardwalk areas and Ocean Grove's lovely village. Our family shared numerous meals and much quality time during our week there. From its grand living room and ample dining area to comfortable bedrooms to practical kitchen/laundry area, this home is ideal for gatherings of friends and family members. Carol and Buster are extremely accommodating and helpful. If you are looking for a comfortable place to spend time --- rain or shine --- this property should be high on your list! We loved our time there very much :)

What a beautiful house with plenty of rooms and space for lots of people!
We had a pleasure of renting it two years in a row: first - to accomodate out-of-town guests during our wedding weekend, and the next year - for our anniversary celebration with friends and family.
The house has a beautiful master bedroom with a balcony and separate bathroom, 2 rooms with queen beds, 2 rooms with two single beds, and 2 small rooms with a single bed, so it was easy for us to accomodate both families with kids and single friends.
The main kitchen is a state of the art (even though it's not a very big one) and it has everything necessary: utensils, kitchenware, even some spices! The outside grill has a big help as well!
The kitchen on the second floor is not updated, but it did the job, and we could cook everything for our 20-guests dinner (for which we set-up a big table in a main living room).
Second living room with a TV (on a second floor) helped us keep the kids entertained.
Overall - we had a great experience and want to come back in this house year after year!

The rooms were a little cold, but then again, the house is old and the front door does not close real good! Seriously, put some effort into making the front door a little snugger instead of putting up bifold doors. The entrance to the house is the key to feeling welcomed. It was 25 degrees out with a wind chill of 2.
All in all I liked this house. I like old homes with surprises, like a second floor kitchen, which we needed to use! And it held an unruly mob of 12 adults comfortably. Some complained about the hard beds, but I did not, being of Spartan descent. I loved the bahrooms and first floor kitchen and the way the kitchen was equipt! GOD BLESS YOU, SHARP KNIVES !!! And plenty of pots that were usable and best of all Big Wine Glasses. (It was as if you knew we were coming).
I thought the living room with the fireplace was the best.

* The property was very clean, updated appliances, and was it well-maintained, etc. The heating units in each room was very comfortable for the various age and desires of the 'residents'.
* The owner has Excellent Taste and did provide good customer service.
* I would recommend this property to a friend or relative.
* Lots of activities, attractions and restaurants though is was off season. We were able to walk to Main Ave. and eat, buy bakery goods, shop and just walk around. Great location.

Such a wonderful place...

Staying at this house was a dream come true for the little girl in me who always wondered what it'd be like to live in a house with two staircases and three bathrooms. Besides the actual size of the house - which worked well for our large party - we loved staying there even on a super cold week in December. We were able to have a big holiday dinner, walk on the beach, play games around the fire in the fireplace. We walked into town for a delicious breakfast and also bought cupcakes (mm!). Everything in the house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The owner was exceptionally kind to us. She even found a roasting pan for our turkey before we arrived. She was so thoughtful. If I'd suggest one area of improvement, we did find the beds to be a little harder than we're used to, so I'd keep that in mind and bring an eggcrate foam mattress if you can. Or if you like a firmer bed, the beds will be perfect for you. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time. Loved it.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write up your comments, and I'm glad your group had a great time. I myself do like a firm bed -- I hate staying in places with saggy mattresses!!! --- but I'll see about adding in some pillowtoppers for guests who want a little pampering.
Great place for larger groups

We were pleasantly surprised that the pictures displayed were a accurate representation of the house. There were 12 adults and with the apartment, we had plenty of room. The kitchen was a little small but was well stocked and nicely laid out. We loved the front porch and enjoyed walking to the beach. We were able to walk to town for shopping and eating out. The downstairs bedroom is small but it worked out well as we had one person who could not make it up the stairs. Carol was great to work with and returned out deposit promptly. Loved that the linens were provided and that we could use the laundry service. Will recommend the house to our friends.

easy stroll to the beach-- within view from upper porch!--and the lovely little town. This is one of three houses we rented for a wedding/reunion and the

Beautiful House, Beautiful Beach - Super Week!

We rented this house ( the whole house including the apartment) for a family week away at the beach and it was super. The house has 8 bedrooms and sleeps 14. It comes equipped with everything you need including linens, bath towels, beach towels ( all in very good condition) and beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, badges, toys). The beach is less than two blocks away. There is Asbury park and the main ave of ocean grove also just blocks away and easy to walk too.
The house is equipped with games, wifi, TV with built in DVD player. Every room has its own air conditioning unit and the units work extremely well (quiet and cool rooms in a hurry). The dining room is perfect for large gatherings (we sat 17 people one night for dinner!)
Also, the landlord is extremely accessible, responsive and kind. She went out of her way to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable.
All in all this house is wonderful. It is perfect for a large family gathering or if a few families want to go away together.

Our family of 12 had a great week at this spacious home using both the main unit and the apartment. Quiet room air-conditioners let each group choose their own comfort level. For my husband and myself, it was windows and door to the second floor porch wide open to enjoy the wonderful ocean breezes.
It's an easy walk to the beach and boardwalk and Day's for wonderful ice cream. The Wednesday evening organ recital at the auditorium was a highlight for me while others enjoyed the fireworks on the beach.
Carol was a great landlady--very accessible and accommodating.

great place for families w/ kids

This is a great house to stay in with multiple families with kids (family reunions, friends, etc.). Lots of bedrooms and tons of amenities. Excellent proximity to the beach, lots of beach gear provided (beach tags, towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, etc.). Owner very hospitable and accommodating.

Great House in Great Location

Our family spent Thanksgiving and we had a great time. The house is comfortable and well equipped with room for everyone. Very close to downtown Ocean Grove & the great restaurants in Asbury Park. Fantastic walks on the beach and beautiful surroundings. The perfect family vacation.

Comfy and felt like home

This house was large enough to and comfortable enough to accommodate our Fall church retreat. The owner was so easy to reach and she was a pleasure to meet. The home was nicely decorated and organized. We were able to find everything we needed and it was helpful to have 2 working kitchens for our large group. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm glad it worked out so well for us.

Peaceful Home

This house was the perfect setting for our meditation retreat. It was spotlessly clean, and decorated with such love and attention to detail. There was not one thing left out. The new kitchen was a joy to cook in and each room had it's own special charm. The warm sun on the porch was perfect for quite, reflective time. And sitting by the fire on the cool October evenings was so cozy and tranquil. Our time here was so blissful.

Relaxing home and location

Staying at this lovely home with another family recently, we felt transported back in time due to the graciousness of the home, the preservation of historic details, the all-around comfort, the old-fashioned porch with ample seating and the superb location of the house itself in Ocean Grove. The modern, super-organized, clean kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, the beds with ample linens and blankets are comfortable and the rental is very well-supplied with everything one could want for the beach: chairs, toys, tags, towels. It was a true pleasure to be there. Can't wait to get back!

fantastic location

We were lucky enough to get this house for a retreat with my office, and it was perfect--spacious enough for families to come and go while we met in the living room (plenty of room for a group of about 16 to gather comfortably, with space for break out groups, etc.). The house is beautifully renovated, bedrooms are spacious and inviting, the location is serene and quiet while being very close to the action around the Great Auditorium, and (best part) steps from the beach! The attached apartment was a nice boon, since you can either integrate the apartment into the main house or shut the door and seal it off--we integrated it. It also has a first floor bedroom, in case anyone has trouble with stairs. The owners take great care of their house and their guests! If we have the chance, we will definitely return!
